Phoenix Ski area is located between Greenwood and Grandforks
in the Kootenays, follow signs on gravel road, off Hwy 3. Phoenix
has snowboard facilities, night skiing, cross country trails,
a day lodge, restaurant, pub, ski shop, rentals and ski school.

Located
at Rossland in the heart of the Kootenays, Red Mountain offers
some of BC's best powder, cross-country ski trails, snowboard
facilities, 2 day lodges, a ski school, on-mountain accommodation,
hot tub/jacuzzi/sauna, grocery and liquor stores, day care,
ski shop and rentals, restaurants and pubs. Also in Rossland
are a mining museum, curling facilities and nearby hot springs.
Red Mountain is home to the run, Cambodia, which is named the
#1 extreme steep in Ski Canada. Red is located 3 km (2 miles)
west of Rossland in southeastern BC. It is a 10 minute drive
from the Canada/USA border and 200 km (124 miles) from Spokane
USA.

Ski Area and Whitewater Ski Area
Salmo Ski Hill, located in the Kootenays, is a short 20km (12.4mi)
drive from Salmo, and 45km (28mi) from both Trail and Castlegar.
For you skiing enjoyment the hill features, snowboard facilities,
cross-country ski trails, night skiing, a day lodge, restaurant,
pub, shop/rentals and lessons. Accommodations can be found at
Salmo, Trail or Castlegar.

Difficulty: all intermediate
Whitewater offers open bowls, tree skiing and cut runs. This hill
offers great powder, hike-in skiing, good snowboarding and minimal
crowds. The Kootenay town of Nelson is located approximately 40
minutes from the Whitewater. Here you will find accommodation,
restaurants, pubs and other necessary facilities. A day lodge,
ski school, ski shop and rentals and pub are found on the hill.
